What Causes Vaginal Laxity?

Just like skin on the face and body, vaginal tissue is made up of collagen and elastin fibers. The collagen supplies the “scaffolding” that supports thick, firm, healthy vaginal walls – while elastin is what gives the vagina its elasticity and “snap back”.

With age and the hormone decline of menopause, the body produces less collagen and elastin – which causes vaginal walls to become thin, dry, loose, and fragile. Viveve vaginal rejuvenation uses cryogen-cooled monopolar radiofrequency (CMRF) that has been clinically proven to tighten and regenerate vaginal walls. Capacitive coupling technology distributes the RF energy evenly across the treatment area for uniform heating of the vaginal walls. At the same time, a technology called “reverse thermal gradient” both cools the treatment area and protects the surface mucosa from damage.

Radiofrequency is a much more comfortable treatment modality than lasers, which rely on “ablation” (burning off) the top layer of the skin in order to stimulate collagen production.

How Viveve Vaginal Rejuvenation Improves Sex
